Coffee Talk with ESCO Vol. 15 • YoungJae Kim

As the saying goes, ‘’All work but no play makes Jack a dull boy.’’ In every volume, Coffee Talk with ESCO chats up our team to find out more about their passion off work. We are excited to have YoungJae Kim, Sales Executive of ESCO Korea to share with us about his passion for golf and motorsports.

Hello!

My name is YoungJae Kim

Business Sales Executive, ESCO Korea

Ever since I was 14, I garnered a huge interest in golf after coming across an online game. This then led to rigorous trainings and participation in competitions in order to develop and enhance my competency in golf. During my first competition, I managed to get a first runner up, however as time passes by, I achieved a total of 25 awards. Despite all the glory, I've decided to play golf casually as it requires a lot of time and energy to maintain at a professional level. However, my love for golf still stays deep within me.

Besides golf, I'm also interested in racing. The love for racing first started when I had my driving license and my first car, Chevrolet Cruze. However, there were no features in the car that enabled me to race with it. After much deliberation, I decided to go for a Toyota 86.

This car was one of my favourite as it has racing features that allowed me to participate in various competitions, where I managed to qualify for the main game.

Till date, I have won 18 awards and I'm looking forward to entering more international competitions in the future.

Despite the fact that racing is an expensive hobby, it does not stop me from being passionate about it. Although I do not have the necessary funds to enter international competitions, I still do coaching and organising of small events to share my passion with other racers.
