The Guiness World Records - The Longest Club DJ Session Relay

On 9 August 2014, The Guinness World Records Certificate for ‘The longest club DJ session relay’ was awarded to Singapore at Marina Barrage Singapore. Two of our colleagues, Alan Olivero and Jason Lim were honored to be part of this exciting event. While Alan managed the DJs as they went about challenging the record, Jason was one of the DJs mixing the continuous track.

*This record has since been broken by Stoney Road (Australia), in Sydney, Australia.

This record is determined by the highest number of DJs to mix one record into one continuous mix and the number of records successfully mixed with a maximum of one record per DJ. The whole challenge took the Singapore team a little more than 5 hours by a total of 133 DJs.

With 21 years of experience at the point of this challenge, Jason – the 34th DJ that day, revealed that the process required the concentration and teamwork of each DJ as the track must be mixed with no breaks to be considered a whole relay. He also added

“This event was a good opportunity for me to catch up with some of my like-minded friends while achieving the record for Singapore.”

When asked what were his thoughts regarding this achievement, Alan said:

“Nothing like giving our nation a birthday present like this.”
